Unmittelbar nach der großen Erdbeben Katastrophe von 2015 gründete der international renommierte und vielfache nepalesische Mountain Bike Meister Ajay Pandit seine Hilfsorganisation NCRR (Nepal Cyclists Ride to Rescue /www.nepalcyclist.com) zum Wiederaufbau von zerstörten Schulen. Die Nepal Initiative unterstützt ihn dabei mit der Finanzierung der Chyandada Primary School in Simtang.
In den zurückliegenden zwei Jahren konnten in der besonders betroffenen Bagmati Region nördlich von Kathmandu bereits sieben Schulen in kostengünstiger Elementbauweise fertiggestellt werden. Während einer viertägigen „Radl Tour“ durch zumeist unwegsames Gelände präsentierte Ajay Pandit dem Vorsitzenden der Nepal Initiative Schongau das stolze Ergebnis.
